Arsenal v Chel$ki with some "friends" from FOX

As I'm sure you all know by now, The Gunners are hosting The Rent Boys in "the most important League game since the last oneTM"(*) on Sunday morning at 11am.

What you might not be aware of, is that bouncy Steve Cohen (co-host of "that dreadful FOX Football Friday TV showTM"(**)) is going to be in Nevadas with a film crew shooting a bit for next Friday's programme. Apparently he doesn't know how many Gooners there are so let's make sure we turnout in force... This is our chance to get more recognition on a larger scale, so bring your singing voices with you (and get there early if you need a couple of beers before joining in).

Hopefully we'll get plenty of songs like,

"One man went to laugh... went to laugh at Chelsea..."
"You won the League, in black and white..."
"Small team in Fulham..."
"One team in London..."

...etc., etc. Not to mention plenty of our own songs (team and player).

When we show up en masse, we're the largest supporters' group in NYC (bar some CSCs) so let's let everyone know that!!!

Don't forget:

"Top of the league...we're having a laugh"

See you all at Nevada's!

Not forgetting,

"Chelsea where ever you may be,
You ain't got no history,
Lampard's fat and Duff's a pikey,
and still ain't got no history..................."

(courtesy of Teabag, via Neil)

and,

"Have you ever seen Chelsea win the league?"
"Small Club With Money"

(thanks to Toure's Jersey on the Forum for the reminder of these)

And, of course, given the right result:

"Top of the league... *you're* having a laugh"

See you Sunday... :-)

You lot are so full of crap songs! That history song is incredibly out of date and I think you've got the words a bit wrong at the end unless you're trying to say Duff hasn't got any history!! By the way, Lampard doesn't play for West Ham anymore!!! When one of your players plays in 100 league games in a row we'll listen to you go on about phsyique!

Are we going to hear your song about going to the Lane to brag to some Spuds fan about the next Ian Wright? Utter crap!

Last but not least, will you lot sing before you score? You lot rarely sing before you score!!! If that's the case Sunday, it'll be awfully quiet at the Bog End!

You know, second place or last place, the view is always the same unless you're the lead dog! It's nice for the Blues to finally get a good view!

Oh alright, that's enough!! Let the games begin!! ;-)

See you Sunday!!

PS Grahame, I'm bringing a camera so make yourself available for a couple of pregame photos!!

Posted by: Blue Mike at December 9, 2004 05:32 PM

Bit nervous are you? :-)

I thought that the words were self-explanatory... compared to the Arse, you've little history to brag about. That and the fact that Lampard is fat, Duff is a pikey and, despite you having them, you've still won f*** all! :-)

Man, Lampie's played a 100 in a row... Wow. Surprised you haven't been more successful then. Or that he hasn't lost a few pounds by now :-)

Given Henry's encroachment on Wrightie's record, I think that the "Down the Lane" song is quite appropriate...

Don't worry about us singing... we'll do our part! Oh, and we only go down the Bog End when we play the Red Mancs; we'll be bracketing you at both ends of the bar again (for the however many times in a row we've done that). BTW, are you going to think of any new songs for this game? It's getting a bit tiresome listening to just the three that you guys know :-)

See you Sunday, bright and early!

Wow!!! Lampard is fat? You have to be blind to think that Lampard is fat. Admit it, mate, you're simply clueless as to your remarks! I know you follow England so give it up and be honest. Lampard is fit and doesn't take stupid yellow cards like your players! I honestly can't see you winning and, when you lose, the 8 point gap will prove to be too high to catch so the real question will be whether your band of plastics decide to continue following the Arse or simply change to Blue and follow Chelsea. Personally, I hope you keep your plastics!

As for winning f*** all, we will do the quadruple! We're in the S-F of the crap cup and the Q-F of the real cup (from where you have never progressed) and we are top of the league! Time will prove us right or wrong. You, however, are surprisingly wrong! Come on, mate, knock the Blues but be truthful! There is so much to make fun of yet you seem clueless, What happened to that anti-Chelsea mate of mine?

As for "Down the Lane", most of you haven't been down to Highbury so why is that appropriate? As for the comment on the songs...boring! You few are will be outsung yet again!!! Maybe, if we stay quiet, you can sing with your brothers in the Bog End! I'm guessing that you didn;t even realise that you had a Bog End!

Mike

(did you see how I ducked the history part!! ;-))

See you Sunday!!

Posted by: Blue Mike at December 10, 2004 10:29 AM

Lampard's perfectly fine when he plays for England... unlike Bridge who seems incapable of making a pass in the national team and spends all game chasing the opposition players he's just given the ball too (and leaving Ash isolated far too often)... :-(

BTW, you said:

"As for winning f*** all, we will do the quadruple! We're in the S-F of the crap cup and the Q-F of the real cup (from where you have never progressed) and we are top of the league! Time will prove us right or wrong. You, however, are surprisingly wrong! Come on, mate, knock the Blues but be truthful! Who's clueless then... at least *I* know that you're (and we're) in the First Knock-out round, not the Q/Fs... Q/Fs tend to have *eight* teams mate, not sixteen! :-) Or are you just assuming that you will beat whoever you get matched up against *next* Friday...? :-)

I'd be a bit careful about grandiose predictions... as some Gooners (not me) from last year or the season before can testify. We were eight points clear of United two years ago *at Easter* and the Red Mancs won the League... we were capable of achieving a treble last year and went to just being able to win the League within the space of a week.

I'm not so sure that you'll beat them in the semis, to be honest; they have something to prove in those games (that they have rebounded from their dire form at the beginning of the season when you bounced them) and they'll revert to the negative style you saw them play against us... Then again, Chels' always has been a good League Cup team (that's pretty much all you've ever won...)

Well see how wins the battle of the singing... and you guys talking about other people's plastics is a case of "the pot calling the kettle black". Amazing how many new Rent Boys you have this season (with their nice shiny new Chel$ki shirts)... is that why you stick to just three songs - cause they haven't learned the words yet? " ;-)

Posted by: NY Gooner at December 10, 2004 11:04 AM

Oops! Yeah, you got me there! :-) Arsenal have never made it to the CL S-F! In all honesty, I'm queasy with regard to the opposition in the next round as we can both face either Real Madrid and Barcelona! Well, you have to beat the best to be the best so bring 'em on!! We'll beat either of them and then play you again in the actual Q-F!! ;-)

To be honest, I really haven't paid too much attention to the league cup but I guarantee that we'll knock off ManU if they play their reserve team! Chelsea have been playing the squad players that don't play regularly along with a couple of the regulars. I mean, we're taking off Cech and Duff and replacing them with Cudicini and Joe Cole (who looks much more like a pikey than Duff!)! And, to be honest, calling Duff a pikey simply because he's Irish reaks of bias!!

As for predicting great things and talking about 8 point leads...well, I'm new to this stuff!!! You should know that!! I'm still on cloud nine just seeing Chelsea at the top of the table!! It's easy to become a fan of a top club but I'm from a long line of Blues fans! I've suffered through decades of mediocrity with nothing in the league and just a few cup runs! We've won the FA Cup more than the League Cup (3-2!). I did notice that, with the three points we picked up from the Toons, the Blues are now safe from relegation!!! :-) (Sorry, you probably need to be a Chelsea fan to understand that one!)

I guess that's where the absolute hatred of plastics comes in!! "Oh, Arsenal suck so I will follow ManU this season and vice-versa!" That stuff is not for me!!! It's one team and one team only and my team's finally on top!! So.."Top of the league..we're having a laugh!!!"

As for our growth in numbers, that's basically through hard work on the Internet and getting everyone to Nevada Smith's! You've been through that yourself. The Americans in our group have followed Chelsea for many years (only a couple have been with us for two years and none shorter (that I know of!)). Those are not plastics! We make annual trips to the Bridge and take a good crew over. We also have Chelsea season ticket holders coming over (weak $ to the pound brings the shoppers over from the homeland) for games! You, on the other hand, have the plastics from ManU and you know that I'm correct with that statement!!!!

As to the singing, you already know that we never used to sing at Nevada's unless we played you or ManU. Now we sing (as you know) and we have a decent amount of songs. You'll hear them on Sunday!!!

Bottom line, it's the games between us that gets the juices flowing and we will have a packed Nevada Smith's on Sunday. It will be red, white and Blue (and Neil's yellow!) and very loud! May the best team win! I love this yapping back and forth as it helps with the build up for the game!!

PS I have a brand new black and silver Raiders..erm Chelsea shirt!! I bought it about two weeks before Chelsea announced the end of the Emirates deal!!! Grrrrr!!!!!

this one amuses me. I'll sing it for Steven.

Carefree wherevere you may be
CHELSEA AINT GOT NO HISTORY!
Lampards fat, the rest are queer
AND YOU AINT WON THE LEAGUE IN 49 YEARS!

Posted by: Mehdi at December 11, 2004 12:14 AM

Hey Mike, Actually the song calls Duff a pikey because he's a tinker... got nothing to do with him being Irish... :-)

Posted by: NY Gooner at December 11, 2004 08:58 AM

BTW, where *does* he park his caravan?

Posted by: NY Gooner at December 11, 2004 09:00 AM

Give 'em hell boys! I'll be with you in spirit from the Dark Horse Pub in Philly!

Carefree, where ever you may be
Arsenal's fu**ing history
Vieira's a c*nt, and so is Henry
And we are the famous CFC!!!

He's French
He's Queer
He takes it in the rear
Thierry..Thierry

Third place!!! I'm beginning to sense a meltdown in the plastic ranks!

I hope there's as much fun at the Dark Horse as there will be at Nevada Smith's (THOF). We made the Dark Horse a Chelsea pub as it was one of the stops in Chelsea's tour of the US! Wish the Philly Blues well for me! ;-)

Grahame, with regard to Duff, that's rollocks you biased.... :-) See you in about 18 hours!! By the way, I want to get a photo of us before the game to send to a magazine in England!

And if anyone can explain what the heck is going on at Goodison Park I'll be interested! Is there something in the water???
